Recommended Apps

Notability

Being a college student, having an app that allows me to keep track of all of my notes is crucial. I love Notability because I use it with my iPad and Apple Pencil and it allows me to hand write my notes like I would on paper. But, instead of using a ton of paper, it is all stored in the cloud digitally! It is a one-time $10 purchase, but I have never regretted the money spent for this app. I am thankful for it daily as I use it for all of my courses as well as for my personal lists and thoughts. – Ally S.

iMovie

iMovie is my top pick for iOS apps available on Apple products. It allows for very approachable video and audio editing that can compete with more complicated applications on other devices. It’s robust and simple design gives it an edge over the competition, as you can go from editing on your Mac to your iPad in an instant and requires no editing experience to get started. As you use and learn iMovie features, users will discover more advanced features naturally as they experiment with the app. – Logan G.

Reminders

I would be lost without the Reminders app. It is so nice to be able to have a list reminding you of things you need to get done because life can go from 0 to 100 really quick, so keeping track of things all in your head is almost impossible. Being able to set the reminder for a specific date and time, as well as creating recurring reminders, is a blessing to me and I hope it will be beneficial for you also! – Ally S.

Notes

Notes is an incredibly useful feature across all Apple devices. The interface of the application is very simple and easy to use and has the features that more expensive note-taking applications have. With iPad, you can also use the Apple Pencil to create handwritten notes or shopping lists. Notes doesn’t require you to constantly save your progress as notes are automatically auto saved and can be stored in the cloud across all of your devices. – Logan G.

Quizlet

Making study guides can be daunting when you have tons of information to keep up with. Quizlet helps me keep track of all my exam review guides easily by allowing me to sort the guides by class in different folders. I also love being able to use different features in order to learn the material and not only having to rely on the flash card feature. Plus, since it’s all digital, it saves paper which is a win in my book! – Ally S.

GarageBand

GarageBand is perfect for the new or experienced producer that wants a simple setup to complement any kind of instrumentation or vocal ideas that otherwise would require more complicated applications or recording software. GarageBand has a superior interface when compared to its competition as it has many options to incorporate audio you already have or adjust audio simply by dragging and dropping audio files. As with many iOS apps, GarageBand’s simplicity and capability to go more in depth is a great experience. – Logan G.
